These four motets were written in 2004, the year when I got and lost my daughter - an experience which definitely has marked the music.

OriginalTranslation

Sl 145, 15-16

Psalm 145

The eyes of all wait upon thee;
and thou givest them their meat in due season.
Thou openest thine hand,
and satisfiest the desire of every living thing.

KJV Psalms 145,15-16

Sl 124,6-8

Psalm 124,6-8

Blessed be the LORD,
who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth.
Our soul is escaped
as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers:
the snare is broken,
and we are escaped.
Our help is in the name of the LORD,
who made heaven and earth.
Blessed be the LORD!

KJV Psalms 124,6-8

Job 35,14

Job 35,14

Even when you say that you do not see him
is the cause before him,
and you shall wait for him.

KJV Job 35,14

Jeg løfter mine øjne - Synth

Jeg løfter mine øjne til dig,
du som bor i himlen.

du som bor i himlen.

Sl 123

Psalm 123

Unto thee lift I up mine eyes,
O thou that dwellest in the heavens.
Behold, as the eyes of servants
look unto the hand of their masters,
and as the eyes of a maiden
unto the hand of her mistress;
so our eyes wait upon the LORD our God,
until that he have mercy upon us.

Have mercy upon us, O LORD, have mercy upon us:
for we are exceedingly filled with contempt.
Our soul is exceedingly filled
with the scorning of those that are at ease,
and with the contempt of the proud.

Unto thee lift I up mine eyes,
O thou that dwellest in the heavens.

KJV Psalms 123
